What are the main characteristics of silver-copper brazing

Share us:

Brazing is characterized by smooth surface of the joint, good air tightness, stable shape and size, little change in the structure and performance of the welding parts, and can connect the same or different metals and some non-metals.Brazing, can also be used to heat the workpiece as a whole, a lot of welding seam, improve productivity. But the strength of the brazed joint is low, and the lap joint is mostly used. The joint strength is improved by increasing the lap length. In addition, the preparation before brazing requires higher requirements. At present, brazing in machinery, motor, instrument, radio and other departments have been widely used.

Brazing is characterized by the melting of the solder metal and the non-melting of the welded parts. In order to make the brazing part firmly connected and enhance the adhesion of the filler metal, brazing agent should be used to remove oxides from the surface of the filler metal and the welding piece.Brazing metals (such as copper base, silver base, aluminum base, nickel base, etc.) have high strength and can be connected to parts bearing loads. They are widely used, such as hard alloy and bicycle frame.Compared with solder metals (such as tin, lead, bismuth, etc.), the welding strength is low. It is mainly used for welding welding parts that do not bear load but require good tightness, such as containers, instrument components, etc.Brazing is widely used in machinery, motor, instrument, radio and other manufacturing industries.

Brazing adopts the alloy whose melting point is lower than the base metal as the filler metal. When heated, the filler metal melts and is filled and kept in the joint gap by wetting and capillary action. The base metal is in solid state, and the brazing joint is formed by the mutual diffusion between the liquid filler metal and the solid base metal.Brazing has little influence on the physical and chemical properties of the base metal, small welding stress and deformation, and can weld dissimilar metals with large difference in performance. It can complete multiple welds at the same time. The joint appearance is beautiful and neat, the equipment is simple, and the production investment is small. But the strength of the brazed joint is low and the heat resistance is poor.
